Are you working or are you worshipping? @jaysmoke
BlogDo you know that you can choose to turn any task into work or worship? It's all about perspective.
In Colossian 3:23, the Bible says 'And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men.'
How do you do any task heartily? It's easier to be enthusiastic about your job when you turn the focus of your work from "I'm doing this for my boss" or "I'm doing this for a paycheck" to "I'm doing this for the Lord." With that in mind you can do anything - scrape paint, wash dishes, repair a car - and turn it into worship.
When you begin to treat every task like this, verse 24 kicks in; knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ.
In other words, when you turn your work into worship, you start storing up credits in heaven. As you work for God, you are making eternal deposits in heaven.
"So whatever you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God." (1 Corinthians 10:31 NIV) It doesn't matter if you're rearranging papers or signing bills, doing the dishes or attending to customers, driving a taxi to playing basketball etc. any job can become an act of worship if you do it enthusiastically for God. And that's how you turn Work into a Worship.
