When you die, you will be forgotten, stop living to please people. Live to please God only. (@jaysmoke)

Why are we alive? Why do we exist?! What drives you?! Many people live to please others. Many people live to buy the flashiest cars, roll with the finest girls, live in the grandest houses, travel all over the world. Some people kill other people just to have their way. People cheat people just to get rich. Nations have been destroyed, innocent lives ended all because someone wanted power and another didn't want to give it away. Some people spend all their lives working hard to make a living, forgetting to live their life.

We've seen human rights activists come and go. We've seen Presidents, good and bad come and go. Celebrities have come, made all the fame and fortune and received awards but where are they now? For centuries, we've seen people live for different reasons, fought for different things, but after everything is said and done, they are all dead and forgotten.

What am I trying to say, King Solomon once said, All is Vanity. No matter who you are, what good you did or what bad you did, when you die, people will mourn for a while but eventually people will forget about you and life will go on. All the hustle you hustled, all the toiling, all the likes and followers you worked so hard to get, all your money, all your cars, all your houses, all your businesses, all your girls, all your men, all your wealth won't mean a thing after you die. Life goes on.

Nelson Mandela has come and gone, life goes on.

Martin Luther King has come and gone, life goes on.

Princess Diana has come and gone, life goes on.

Tupac has come and gone, life goes on.

Saddam Hussein has come and gone, life goes on.

Adolf Hitler has come and gone, life goes on.

Malcolm X has come and gone, life goes on.

Steve Jobs has come and gone, life goes on.

Bill Gates will also come and go, Mark Zuckerberg will also come and go. Beyonce, Jay Z, Elon Musk, You too will come and go but life will surely go on. After all is said and done and you are on the other side, whatever you did with your life here on Earth will reflect. The Bible told us to 'store up our treasures in Heaven not Earth', how are you doing that?!

Am I saying don't live life? To the contrary, live it to the fullest but what am asking is what are you living it for? Likes, Followers, Money, Legacy, or are you living it for the King? Death will surely come for each one of us but life goes on, even for the dead! What life will you live after you pass on from this one? We focus so much on our life here on Earth, what people will say about us, what legacy are we living behind, will I be remembered, how can I enjoy my life to the fullest etc and forget that the real life begins after this one. Jesus Christ once told a parable and said 'what does it profit a man to gain the whole world and lose your soul?' The greatest tragedy isn't death, it's to lose your soul.

I'll end with the piece from King Solomon. I hope it blesses you as much as it did me and give you a new perspective on what you are here for.

“Everything is meaningless,” says the Teacher, “completely meaningless!” What do people get for all their hard work under the sun? Generations come and generations go, but the earth never changes. The sun rises and the sun sets, then hurries around to rise again. The wind blows south, and then turns north. Around and around it goes, blowing in circles. Rivers run into the sea, but the sea is never full. Then the water returns again to the rivers and flows out again to the sea. Everything is wearisome beyond description. No matter how much we see, we are never satisfied. No matter how much we hear, we are not content. History merely repeats itself. It has all been done before. Nothing under the sun is truly new. Sometimes people say, “Here is something new!” But actually it is old; nothing is ever truly new. We don’t remember what happened in the past, and in future generations, no one will remember what we are doing now.

Ecclesiastes 1:2‭-‬11 NLT
