Why do Christians place RESTRICTIONS and BLOCKS on their content? (@jaysmoke)Blog
I honestly would like to know the mindset behind several CHRISTIAN artists putting BLOCKS on their music/movies etc? It's one thing to restricted monetizing your content, but to actually block anyone from sharing your music, I find that to be very disturbing to say the least and very discouraging.
This thing isn't about money for some of us, we were CALLED to promote Jesus through entertainment so we ain't doing this because we want your money. So when you put these restrictions on your work, it makes our work difficult but when we shun your works too, then you say we don't support your ministry.
This is not Christian. It's a worldly mindset that thinks solely about profit over ministry. The Bible says to seek ye first the kingdom and everything will be added. If He called you to spread NOT SELL the gospel through music, just do that and your reward will follow. Placing restrictions on your content isn't Christian and I really find it hard to understand how a God who freely gave you His son to die for you, will be happy with this act.
We in this world, not of it. We should be setting examples for the world to follow but instead the world is teaching us our to be selfish, self-centered, and self absorb. Be the light.
I know some of these artists don't even know these things, but ignorance shouldn't be an excuse. It is your name that is seen so you should be ontop of these things. Know what you are signing into. Which distribution platforms you use. Etc.
Big ups to every artist out there selflessly promoting Kingdom Business. Know that you are one in a million and your reward awaits you. Keep pushing and God will richly bless you.
