Jesus rested, and so should you. Here are 3 ways to create space to rest.
Blog“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” MATTHEW 11:28
In a world burdened by busyness, Jesus invites us into something greater—rest. But what does real rest look like?
Here are 3 ways you can create space to rest.
Talk to God
Throughout His ministry, Jesus often withdrew to rest and connect with God. (Matt 14:23)
Whether you’re driving, going on a walk, or spending time with the people in your life, pause and talk to God throughout your day.
Be Intentional
Prioritizing rest doesn’t happen by accident.
Try scheduling time to be still each day on your calendar, and then communicate those times to your family and friends.
This will help you stay accountable when the world tries to pull you into work and activity.
Practice Sabbath Rest
From the beginning, God modeled rest (Gen 2:2-3), and He invites us to make it part of our weekly rhythm. (Exo 20:8-11)
This idea of intentionally setting aside a day to be with God and enjoy His presence is called Sabbath. It’s a way to remember that God loves us not because of what we do, but because of who He is.
When was the last time you really rested in God’s presence?
