Why your support matters: A reflection on friendship and RepJesus
BlogRecently, I had an interesting conversation with a user on RepJesus. They were surprised to learn that the platform is Ghana-based. That interaction got me thinking about something that’s been on my mind for a while: Why is it that 99% of the users on RepJesus are strangers?
Where are my 'friends'? I like to believe I have a sizeable amount of them, but they're not using my app. I see them active on platforms like Facebook, X, etc., every day, yet they haven’t made the move to support something that means so much to me. It's perplexing and, to be honest, a bit discouraging.
A true friend wants to see their friend succeed, right? They show up, make their presence felt, and support what you’re passionate about. For years, I’ve promoted countless Urban Gospel artists on various platforms. I did it with so much dedication that people began to associate the movement with me, even though it was always about the artists. I did because I believed in them and I considered them to be 'friends'.
This same desire to support them, led me to come up with new ways to promote them. Wouldn't it be wonderful to have a platform where Christians can share uplifting content, be inspired, and connect with each other in a positive environment? A place free from explicit content, where everyone feels safe and edified?
That’s what I’ve created with RepJesus. So, if you are a Christians or you truly care about what I’m passionate about, why wouldn’t you want to support it? Your presence on the platform means more than you might think.
I’d love to hear your thoughts. Let’s continue this conversation and build something amazing together.
Yours Sincerely,
JaySmoke
