Follow What's wrong with collaborating with unbelievers?
BlogEeeeeiiiiii Brother Franklin, I'm honestly at a loss for words right now. 🤣😭
On one hand, some people argue, "At least he's getting these secular artists to do Gospel music." But we have to ask ourselves: what happens after the music stops? When the music fades, your followers will likely go searching for that secular artist's other works. And what do you think they'll find when they visit T.I.'s page?
There's a reason we don't let children play with guns or make life-changing decisions until they're old enough to understand the consequences. I believe the same principle applies to spiritual matters.
Apostle Paul was tested by the disciples before they accepted him and began working alongside him. Nowhere in the New Testament do we see an Apostle collaborating with an unbeliever to preach the Gospel. So where did this idea come from—that it's acceptable to involve unbelievers in ministry work?
I fear that Kirk Franklin is misusing the grace of God with these actions. Have you considered how harmful this might be for his followers, especially the young ones who are still figuring out their faith?
Some might say, "That's not your concern, Jay. It's up to the Holy Spirit." But if we're not supposed to be concerned about our flock, how do you explain the verse that says, "Woe unto the one who causes one of these to stumble and fall" (Matt 18:6)? Clearly, we have a responsibility to ensure that our actions don't lead others astray. What message are we sending when we collaborate with a secular artist?
Unless the individual is saved, has turned over a new leaf, and is committed to leaving their old life behind, we shouldn't be partnering with them in ministry. There's no godly partnership between light and darkness. If you want to do other businesses with them, fine, go ahead, nothing wrong there. But it would be hypocritical to engage in ministry with someone who doesn't even believe in the message you're preaching.
Let's stop playing games and call this what it is, because it's certainly not the Gospel.
Shalom 🙏🏾
